Introducing Fairstone’s new online loan quote tool

We’re excited to announce that our new mobile-friendly online loan quote tool is here! Want to learn more about our online tool, why it was developed and how Fairstone is digitizing the user experience? We asked our Product Owner, Nancy Nardella, for the inside scoop.

Fairstone’s new online loan quote tool is just one of the ways we’re leading the pack when it comes to modernizing our services. Like the rest of the consumer finance industry — actually, everyone with an online presence — we’re continuously evolving to offer customers a more seamless, interactive online experience.

What are the benefits of an online loan quote

Nancy: Our previous online loan application was really just the first step in fulfilling a loan— it wasn’t a tool or even very informative. But we know that most people who browse online are often researching, and may not be ready to commit to a loan. They want to know what a loan is like — how much money they can get, what their payment amount might be and how often they have to pay. Our online tool answers these questions, all without impacting their credit score.

Fairstone is the first consumer finance company in Canada to offer this type of tool

How has Fairstone’s online loan experience changed?

Nancy: This tool reflects our decision to cater to a growing number of users who prefer to “shop and compare” when they’re browsing online. Offering an online loan quote meets this need by taking in the user’s information and returning a personalized loan quote, without requiring a hard credit pull or a visit to one of our branches [link to locator]. Your loan is still personalized, just not in person. Fairstone is the first consumer finance company in Canada to offer this type of tool, which is part of our commitment to supporting Canadians’ understanding of loan products, and the realities of borrowing money.

With more and more of our customers using mobile over desktop, we’ve also redesigned the loan experience to meet new digital expectations:

- A mobile-first design that ensures the best possible experience from any device

- A personalized form that is quick, simple and secure for users to fill out

- Interactive elements that work well with a touch screen

- Grouping a smaller number of similar questions together per screen, rather than requiring users to scroll through a long form

- Fewer questions so users can use the tool and get a result quickly and easily, only a few minutes

Finally, we’re seeking to build a loan experience that offers customers the information they’re looking for without requiring a commitment on their part. Our online loan quote is obligation-free, it can be customized to suit each user, and you don’t need to sign up to participate. Through this and future tools, we look forward to supporting more Canadians’ borrowing experiences by offering the right tools and information, at the right time and in the right place.

Ready to give our online loan quote a try? Here’s how it works.

  1. First let us know how much you’re looking to borrow and what you’d like to use your loan for. We’ll then ask some personal information like your name, address, and housing and employment details.
  2. After you hit submit we’ll do a soft credit pull to make sure you get the most accurate quote and the best rate possible. A soft credit check won’t cost you anything, and it won’t affect your credit score.
  3. Once we’re done calculating you’ll be presented with your personalized loan offer.
  4. A Fairstone Lending Specialist will be in touch with you shortly to discuss your loan.
