September is Community Matters Month!

Each September, Fairstone employees from coast to coast volunteer and give back to their local communities.

Let’s take a look at our volunteer activities from last year

From food banks to tree planting and animal shelters, we volunteered in a variety of organizations to help our communities.

In September 2018, Fairstone employees…

  • Volunteered at 20 different events across Canada
  • Gave back to 17 local communities
  • Supported 13 different organizations
  • Spent over 12 days volunteering

What do we have planned this year?

In 2019, we’re focusing our volunteer efforts on three main areas: financial literacy, promotion of women and diversity and supporting our communities. Our goal? We’re hoping to volunteer in even more communities and more events than we did in 2018.

Plus, we’ll once again be participating in and raising money for Run for Leucan on September 28, 2019.

How else do we give back to our local communities?

September isn’t the only time we’re giving back to our local communities! Throughout the year, hundreds of Fairstone employees donate money to United Way. And, many of our employees regularly volunteer at JA Canada to help teach Canadian youth about the importance of financial literacy. Learn more about our JA Canada partnership in this article.

We’ve also had the opportunity to sponsor some amazing activities across Canada this past summer including Parksville Beach Fest, Peterborough Musicfest, the opening of Keshen Goodman’s Outdoor Library and more.

We have even more sponsorships planned for the rest of the year. Want to know where you can find us in your community? Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to stay up to date on where we’ll be, and don’t forget to say “hi” if you see us! smiley
